Chalk drawings are delicate. The powdery chalks can be brushed off, so special aerosol spray fixatives are available for professional pastel artists. We have found that regular hairspray works just fine for student work. Adults can simply lay the finished pastel drawing outdoors and coat it with a light hairspray!
