The color mixing charts are especially handy, showing how basic watercolor pigments are combined to create every color imaginable. A great activity for young artists is to replicate the mixing charts with their own paints. Through this excerise, they'll learn exactly how different shades of color can be created, and will gain control over their materials. It's fun too.
