With this complete kit, kids learn how to draw, color and paint in the style of modern masters including Picasso, Kandinsky, Modnrian and Warhol. The materials used are watercolor paper and canvas boards using Faber-Castell Grip Watercolor pencils, paintbrush and an outline pen...making this a wonderful teaching kit for both painting and drawing techniques.

Modern Art uses color, shape and line to express emotions and convey ideas; objects are often simplified and de-constructed and the art that results is very personal and unique. Kids discover that great modern artists don't necessarily draw an exact likeness of a face, a tree or a house. They experiment with letting their own imaginations go and creating shapes, squiggles, color combinations and designs that express their own feelings and develop their own modern art style.

The kit includes a "rainbow" of colored pencils to make a wide range of hues. The GRIP EcoPencils have watercolor leads, so when kids brush them with water, their drawing becomes a watercolor painting. The permanent marking pen can be used for outlining and accents. Since the ink is waterproof kids can paint right over it and it won't run.

Four canvas panels have very light blue guidelines to get kids started. They add their own designs, color choices and details to personalize their masterpieces. Once they've explored the style and techniques of the 4 great artists features in the kit, kids go on to use additinal canvas boards and the pad of watercolor paper to create original art from scratch....developing theirTh own abstract modern art style.

The included instruction booklet shares the work of the great artists with kids while respecting and encouraging each child's own creativity and vision. As works are completed, each kid can display their creations on the mounting boards included.
