Drips of Colored Ink

Sometimes a beautiful design happens almost by accident. The wonderful pattern on this mail art envelope was created by dripping three puddles of watery blue ink onto the paper, then lifting nd tipping it so the colored ink ran in different dorections. Extra ink dripped off (onto scrap newspaper, we hope, and not your Mom's frontroom carpet). You could get the same effect with watercolor paints...just mix a lot of water with them so they run and fade.

Colored inks are great materials for drawing and painting. See our basic set of colors with mixing palette , Colored Drawing Inks Set, in the KidsArt Store.
