Amanda Schwittay from Peshtigo, Wisconsin, made this colorful woven paper design at her school when she was in 2nd grade. She took a large sheet of yellow paper and cut it with straight and squiggly lines. She cut from one side almost all the way to the other side, but didn't cut all the way through, so the strips were still attached along one side.
Then Amanda made several multicolored strips of paper...five red strips with a narrow black strip and a very narrow white strip glued down the center...and four green strips with white and black centers. She wove the colored strips in and out of the sliced yellow paper and glued them at the edges, creating the beautiful design you see below. Try it yourself!
