Try this technique to make a wonderful design...and practice your drawing and "looking" skills. Jessica Clement sent us this picture that she made with colored markers when she was 11. The paper is divided into 6 frames. In the first (top left side), Jessica draws a steaming coffee cup on a table with striped wallpaper in the back. Then in the next frame, she zooms in even closer to the cup. By the third frame you can see the cross design on the cup clearly...then in the bottom row, she draws closer and closer, until the cross pattern fills the entire picture. Great use of black marker pen outlines filled in carefully with bright marker colors!

Older students will love the activities in Drawing for Older Children and Teens.
