American Eagle

A Patriotic Drawing

Eagle

There's no particular reason that our most patriotic KidsArt example comes from the Central States...except that the kid artist who designed it lives in Ohio!

Patriotic pictures are a common theme in American folk art. You might enjoy making a patriotic drawing too. If you live in the USA, here are some of the symbols you might use:

  • The American eagle, like our example
  • Red and white stripes with stars on dark blue, like the US flag
  • Uncle Sam!
  • George Washington or other heros from US history
If you live in another nation, you will use different symbols in your patriotic drawings...but the subject is the same....I Love My Home!

American Folk Art is great fun for kids. For more projects, see the KidsArt booklet KidsArt American Folk Art in the KidsArt On-Line Catalog.
